How to choose a ROS 2 mobile robot base

Payload, drive and control interfaces.

For engineers and technical buyers

01 · Define the requirement

Add the mass of sensors, compute, cables and tooling to the working payload. Use the continuous rating; a short-duration figure is not a deployment rating.

02 · Selection Criteria

Confirm the physical connector, voltage, protocol and driver together. A shared connector name does not establish electrical or software compatibility.

03 · Verify before ordering

Name your ROS distribution, operating system and SDK version in the request. Validate the driver on the intended host before committing to a larger order.

04 · Lead Time & Shipping

Match the protection rating and installation conditions to the site. Check connectors, cable protection, mounting, cooling and battery transport separately.

Why this matters

Specifications describe the listed configuration. Confirm fit, documentation and current availability before ordering.
